Stainless steel Rings for mopeds
Body washers or Flat washers
There is a specific ring for every application. A body washer (also Flat washer called ) protects the metal of the moped part against damage from the nut when you tighten it. The ring distributes the forces of the nut evenly so that there is not too much pressure on a specific spot. In addition, you can of course use a washer to reduce a drill hole so that the nut does not rotate through it.
Spring washer
A spring washer is also called a retaining ring or a securing ring. These rings are not flat but can be toothed ( Lockring ) or, for example, ruffled. A toothed spring washer is in fact a lockring with serrations. This creates extra friction under a nut so that it does not become loose due to vibrations or other causes. The same goes for ruffled spring washers. Due to their specific wave shape, a nut stays in place, even with strong vibrations. The choice of a stainless steel ring therefore depends on the application. Do you want to protect the body of your classic moped? Then choose a body washer. For applications where vibrations play a role, a spring washer is the better choice.
